Salams' Mission is to "Serve the Ummah by bringing together the hearts of Muslims." We hope to achieve this Mission while safeguarding the dignity and respect of all Muslims who utilize our app. Our goal is to facilitate marriages, foster friendships, and network among all people within our diverse Ummah of 2 billion Muslims around the globe.
The Qur'an states that human beings are created in different tribes and nations so that they may know and understand each other.
"O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another." (49:13)
While achieving this purpose, we expect the Muslim community who utilize the Salams app to treat each other with kindness and respect. As a Muslim company, we promote the best actions and the best manners, as in the Hadith in which our Beloved Prophet (SAW) stated: " إِنَّ مِنْ أَخْيَرِكُمْ أَحْسَنَكُمْ خُلُقًا."
"The best among you in Islam are those with the best manners" (Saheeh Bukhari). (See Hadith No. 56 (B) Vol. 8).
We expect our members to treat each other correctly and kindly by upholding the teachings of Islam. If you fail to act appropriately, you could be permanently banned from the Salams app. Our etiquette expectations are listed below. If a member violates the guidelines listed, disciplinary actions will occur.
To ensure our app is safe, we ask you to report any offensive behavior, and a customer support team member will look into every report made.

Appropriate Profile
❌ Fake profiles
We stress that no user tries to impersonate anyone, misrepresent your age, or put false information in your profile. To ensure the safety of our members, our team has a thorough Selfie Verification process to avoid any possible spamming and impersonations.
If our team doubts the "realness" of your profile selfie, we have the right to perform ID verification. To verify the validity of your identity, our team will request a legally issued document(i.e., state ID, driver's license, etc.)
Niqabi profiles can be approved on the Salams app after selfie verification. To avoid fake profiles, our team will be thorough with the selfie verification process (our team will request a legally issued document(i.e., state ID, driver's license, etc., to match the selfie).

❌ Inappropriate Photos
In Islam, men and women must guard their modesty. So, our users have appropriate and modest photos on their profiles. Users should not have revealing, inappropriate, sexual images on their profiles. Content containing nudity or anything sexually explicit is strictly prohibited. In addition, users, users must not engage in sexual conversations. Please comply with these guidelines to avoid profile rejection and ban.

❌ Duplicate Accounts
Only one account is permitted per user. If you need to make another account because of a number or email address change, please don't hesitate to contact customer support. Reasons for creating a new account will have to be verified by the Salams team. If you have any previous disciplinary actions, we can reject the creation of duplicate accounts. Once we understand your request for a new account, we can delete your old one so you can start fresh.

❌ Minors 🔞
You must be 18 years or older to sign up for our app.
If we see a profile that encourages harm to a minor or depicts a child sexually or suggestively, we will permanently ban that user.

Appropriate Behavior
❌ Inappropriate Language
We expect appropriate and kind communication from everyone to ensure a safe environment for our members and the customer support team.
A first offense of speaking in an abusive, obscene, offensive, threatening, profane, harassing, or racially offensive manner will result in immediate termination and a ban from utilizing our app.

❌ Solicitation/Prostitution
Ignore any request to send money – even if the person claims to be in an emergency – and report it to us immediately. Never give out financial information such as your social security number, credit card number, or bank information.
Any sexual activity is strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent ban. In addition, if a user attempts to promote or advocate for any form of prostitution, human trafficking, or other sexual exploitation, they will be permanently banned from Salams.

❌ Racist/Hate Behavior
We strictly prohibit any content that supports or advocates racism, bigotry, or any form of hatred against users or groups based on their religious sect, ethnicity, national origin, disability, age, or gender. Any racist or hateful behavior (not limited to the offenses above) will not be tolerated, and users will be banned or warned. If users persist in any form of racist misconduct, there is a possibility of being permanently banned from Salams.

❌ Harassment
No user has the right to harass another user in any form. A user should never involve other parties in harassing another user or directly harassing a user themselves. If a user rejects you, you should never feel you have an excuse to be obsessive or abusive. This includes any acts that intimidate or humiliate.
, threaten, alarm, or put another user in fear. Salams will take the appropriate measures to investigate reports that fall into the category of harassment and could ban any user who engages in such behavior.

❌ Ghosting/Seriousness Policy
Please treat others the way you would like to be treated. Do not Ghost if you don't want to be Ghosted. The Salams platform was designed for serious users with marriage on their minds. Please reply to all messages. If you have decided to "Like" a user and have matched with them, please respond and spread the Salams(Peace) to see where things could go. Also, if a member mustered up the courage to chat with you instantly, please be polite and reply politely about your interest. An in-app reminder will tag the messages that have gone past 14 days with no response.

❌ Polygamy
Salam's users cannot use the Salams Love platform if married. Islam does allow for polygamy; however, it is illegal and punishable by law in the U.S. and other countries. Therefore, if the Salams team identifies any married user utilizing the Love platform or if we are provided with clear evidence to show that a Salam user is currently married while using the Love platform, you will be banned.

Investigative Process
The Salams team's investigation process differs from a judicial system or court of law. The salams investigation process includes reviewing users' accounts and making the most appropriate decision based on the details we have available to review. Our customer support team will investigate the evidence after reviewing your account at our best judgment. Please remember that our Terms of Service allow us to ban anyone at any time without disclosing why.
